Honeymoonin’ fun :)

As your wedding planning begins to come to a close and your hotel and flight are booked for your honeymoon, start thinking about what you want to do on your honeymoon. For my honeymoon, I am going to Hawaii. My fiance and I are working on a budget for our honeymoon because dont have a ton of money to spend. To keep it a little less expensive, we decided that we could each pick one excursion that we want to do and then we would pick a luau to go to as well. We will be in Hawaii for one week and we figured that this will do us good. We can relax and enjoy the weather and the beach for the remainder of the time we are there. With this said, discuss exactly what you will do on your honeymoon before you get there. You want to have an idea of how much you are going to spend before you are enjoying it all. Especially if you dont have money to waster, put a limit on what you think is ok to spend. That way you wont go off of emotion when you are purchasing things and it is more of an issue of this is all there is to spend.
Each honeymoon of course is different and if you go to Disneyland or on a Cruise, the money you spend is already taken care of your excursions, but this can still apply in situations such as this to buying souvenirs. Your honeymoon is a once in a lifetime opportunity so you do want to get some extra things that you might not get on an average vacation but just make sure you are able to keep it under control, and having a limit set will really help with this.
Make sure to have the time of your life because this is your honeymoon… and you wont get this time back!!!

The Wedding ring!

If the ring that your groom purchases did not come with a wedding band, be prepared to get frustrated looking for the perfect one to match.  Make sure to start the process early so you have time to make your decision.  My fiance and I went looking for wedding bands in December and are still making our final decisions now.  We are now running out of time so we need to decide very soon.  But it is good that we went looking so soon because it took me quite a while to decide if I wanted to go with the cheaper one or the one that i liked better.  I decided to go with the one that I like better.  Therefore I must say the one thing to remember during the searching process is to make sure whatever you decide is something that makes you happy.  It is something you will have for the rest of your life so if you arent happy with it, then dont get it.  If the one you like is more expensive than you wanted to spend, reevaluate your situation to see if it is worth the extra money.  All in all, make sure you decide and dont let others convince you of what you should do.  They arent the ones that are going to have that particular piece of jewelry adorn their left hand ring finger for the rest of their life…you are.

Exclusively Weddings has what you need!

I found this website through a magazine I got in the mail.  It was a catalog of all sorts of different products you might use for your wedding.  When I went on the website, I realized how much more there is to offer the wedding planning couple.  I ordered mine and my fiances toasting flutes (glasses) as well as my garter and my cake cutter.  They also engraved the cake cutter and flutes.  They have a very nice selection of products in these areas as well as in the paper products (invitations, programs, etc.), favors, ring bearer and flower girl essentials, decorations, bouquet holders, and they even help you out with colors and theme ideas.  Check this website out to give you more ideas as your continue your planning!!!

All about the BRIDE!!!

With this being one of the MOST important days of your life, you are going to want to look ABSOLUTELY beautiful, so I say dont settle for ANYTHING less!  I recently had a trial run through of my hair for my wedding and I absolutely hated it! I was trying to figure out what I could do to change it.  Should I try to explain to my hairstylist what I didnt like and try to have her fix it? Should I try to fix it myself and not worry about it?  I ultimately decided to go with a completely new person to do my hair.  I felt like no matter what I told my first hairstylist she wasnt going to do it the way I liked it.  I was a huge headache and I am glad it has been settled.  I am usually one that will make myself happy with things of this nature but I decided that I should have to MAKE myself happy, I should BE happy with it.

My make-up turned out great, luckily.  I had my aunt do it and she is absolutely amazing with make-up so she did a great job.  I would recommend having someone else do your make-up because it gives your face a different look.  On the day of your wedding you want to look different, you want to stand out.  I enjoyed having my face look a little bit different when my aunt did a trial run of my make-up and I felt it would help me stand out even more!

Whatever you may look like on your special day, make sure it is something that you will be completely and totally happy with because you will never get that day back again! Make it one to remember and with no regrets!!! :)

Be resourceful… use what you have

One thing that you will learn very early on is that weddings cost A LOT of money.  That is why it is in your best interest to try to use what you have or what is in your reach. For example: The church that I am getting married at has these huge greek looking columns that they allow couples to use for wedding ceremonies.  I never really planned on using columns such as these when I got married for decorations but once I saw them I thought they would look very nice.  So I decided to decorate them a little as well to class them up.  A friend of my moms had extra tulle from their wedding so she gave that to me to use for mine (another resource).  I figured I would take the tool and wrap it around the columns and string white Christmas lights in them to give it a very romantic and elegant feel (the Christmas lights we got for more than 50% off at an after Christmas sale).  I have now covered the decoration of the stage for minimal costs and I am still getting the feel that I wanted at the same time.  Resources come in different shapes, sizes, and packages, so make sure you are open to anything.  If you dont like it at first, see if you can fix it up to make it your own and get the exact thing you wanted in the first place!

Flowers are essential!

Every bride knows that flowers are a must! I mean, what else would a bride carry down the aisle?! What I found is that I wanted my flowers to set a certain tone for the wedding.  My fiance and I have chosen to go with a more tropical theme for our wedding so we are using bright colors and, of course, tropical flowers. I believe the tropical feel will come mainly from our choice of flowers.  If you want a more romantic feel, I dont think anything could do the job better than red roses. Whenever I see a bouquet of red roses, they simply take my breath away because of how much your eye is drawn to them. Here are some examples of  flowers you can use in your bouquets.

With these two different examples, I hope you are able to get ideas about what kind of tone you want your flowers to set for your wedding.  They could play a big role as they are in my wedding by helping set the tropical theme and feel.  It could also play a small role where it simply accents your colors and the feel you wanted to set, whether it be simple, or luxurious, or romantic.

Also, dont forget that flowers dont have to be limited to only bouquets.  You can use them to decorate the aisle, the stage area, or even wear them in your hair or your bridesmaids hair.  I am even using flowers for my favors, which happen to be leis.  Dont limit yourself. Think outside the box and explore all the possibilities that go along with your dream wedding.  And always remember that it is your day so do whatever you want and dont let anyone discourage you of that!
